Starting with M2E Pro version 6.71.0, Amazon ASIN management has been revamped to align more closely with Amazon Seller Central's processes. We’ve overhauled the Amazon Description Policy feature and updated the approach to creating and managing new ASINs.
Before upgrading to the latest version, please review the key updates below to ensure a smooth transition.
Amazon Description Policy Update #
The Description Policy feature has been removed to simplify the process of listing products on Amazon. Instead of configuring a Description Policy to provide product information:
- Use Amazon Product Types: Assign Product Types to your items in M2E Pro Listings to list new ASINs or update details for ASINs you previously created.
Creating New ASINs #
To list products under new ASINs, follow these steps:
- Create Product Types:
Navigate to Amazon > Configuration > Product Types and define the appropriate Product Types for your products. - Assign Product Types:
Apply the Product Types to the products in your M2E Pro Listings.
This ensures synchronization and seamless updating of product details for newly created ASINs. Refer to this guide for step-by-step instructions.
Auto Add/Remove Rules Update #
If you have configured Auto Add/Remove Rules in your M2E Pro Listings, these rules need to be updated to reflect the new approach:
- Adjust Rules: Replace conditions that rely on the Description Policy with the Amazon Product Type. Refer to the Auto Add/Remove Rules guide for step-by-step instructions.
Amazon Shipping Templates #
Previously, to map your seller shipping template for an item, entering the right shipping template name was enough. After MWS API was replaced with the new SP-API, the mechanism of uploading a shipping template changed and has been updated in M2E Pro accordingly.
To continue using your Amazon Shipping Templates for your items, please configure them in your M2E Pro anew. Despite the technical updates introduced to the way the shipping templates are mapped on Amazon, we still made it possible for you to just select the right Shipping Template name in the M2E Pro interface.
